Real talk it has been quite a while since I have posted. However, I am back and more determined than ever to get this healthy living journey revved back up.


I have a new look on life, a new attitude, a new support group. This time I'm kicking butt and taking names.

taking a time out to think

The other day I tried to empty my mind and relax. I found it very hard and disturbing that I couldn't relax. I couldn't clear my thoughts I couldn't focus on being at peace.

So I decided to play some soothing sounds of nature. I listened to the sound of a thunderstorm via an android application. I begin to think about raindrops on my skin and sitting out in the rain watching the natural fireworks.

I figured out to put my mind at ease and give it a break. It was a wonderful experience one that I will continue to do. Quite refreshing to just relax and not worry about the troubles of the day for just a few minutes.

Holiday Eating

It is definitely that time of year where eating is a the best hobby around.  Thanksgiving has passed and we are still trying to work off that turkey.  Let us redeem ourselves and not repeat Thanksgiving but become portion conscious for the rest of the holiday.

We can still enjoy our favorite foods but not in "Super-sized" portions.

Take a deep breath and relax


Ladies take a deep breath and relax. Pause for a second, close your eyes, and just clear your mind. Breathe. Breathe. Breathe, slowly in through the nose and out through the mouth.

Sometimes ladies we have to take a minute and gather ourselves. Forget momentarily about the troubles that maybe going on in our lives and regroup. Meditation, prayer, whatever you prefer to do that helps you get back to your happy place.

Just wanted to give you a second or two of serenity.
